I Rock Africa Celebrates Black Women Miriam Makeba (March 4, 1932- November 10, 2008) was a South African-born singer, known as Mama Afrika, who gained global fame as a stellar performer and human rights advocate in the 20th century. Raised in a segregated township, she started singing in a school choir and turned professional in 1954. She settled in the US in 1959, where she launched a successful singing and recording career, focusing on Xhosa and Zulu songs. Critical of apartheid, she was denied reentry into South Africa in 1960 and lived in exile for three decades. She won a Grammy in 1965 with Harry Belafonte. It is with profound regret and deep sorrow that the McIntosh, Greenfield, Mellish and Zondo families announce the death of their husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, Mr. Charles D. B. McIntosh, Sr., (S.O.A.P.). This sudden event occurred on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 at the Henrico Forest Hospital in Henrico, Virginia, USA. Mr. Charles Decca Burgess McIntosh, Sr. (S.O.A.P.) was born unto the union of Rev. Father Charles A. E. McIntosh and Mother Catherine Irene Greenfield-McIntosh on November 10, 1930.
He leaves to mourn his loving, caring and devoted wife, Mrs. Margarette D. Mellish-McIntosh, children, Catherine Mondaymah McIntosh, James McIntosh, Bishop Charles D.B. McIntosh, Jr. (Veronica), Pastor Georgia A. McIntosh Dennis (Tracey), Pastor Anthony B. McIntosh (Tracy), Mercy McIntosh, Dr. Harven V. DeShield (Shani), Charlesetta S. McIntosh-Jackson (Emmanuel), Catherine Huntress McIntosh, Yeatoe Gloria McIntosh, and Wokie Passawe-Lanier (James), his grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, Adeline McIntosh-Lawrence, Dr. Georgia Anna McIntosh-Golafale, and Tabolee C. McIntosh-Bouey, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Cisco, Sr., Samuel McIntosh, James McIntosh, John Allen, sisters, Ida McIntosh-Hodges, Nellie McIntosh, Caroline McIntosh-Goodridge, Irene L. M. McIntosh, nephew and son Cyrus McIntosh.

Thursday Jan 27 Wake 6-9 pm St. Stephen Episcopal Church (All tributes except the immediate family tribute will be during the wake).
Friday, Jan 28 Funeral 10am St. Stephen Episcopal Church 10 Street Sinkor
Burial immediately after funeral service: Fortsville, Grand Bassa (at home on Greenfield Seminary/Mission)
Repast/picnic (St. John City Hall)
